Ford Motorcraft DU-87 / F4TZ-12K073-C Camshaft Position Sensor 1994–2003 7.3L Powerstroke

Designed for the legendary 7.3L Powerstroke diesel, the CPS is critical for engine RPM monitoring, injector timing, and overall drivability. A failed CPS is a known common issue on the 7.3L — leading to crank-no-start conditions or drivability problems without warning.

The camshaft position sensor generates a digital signal that allows the PCM (engine computer) to determine engine RPM and piston position. A properly functioning CPS is critical for injector timing and engine startup.
