Description

89-98 Cummins Bell Crank Throttle Shaft Linkage Bushings Pair Brass Upgrade

Are you wondering why you need this? These will fit the first gen and second gen bell crank throttle linkage. On the second gen P-pump motors, when the original plastic bushings wear out, it allows the shaft to wobble in the TPS. A .1 Volt change in the TPS changes the shift points by about 10 MPH. It makes the trans shift wrong which will wear it out. Also, when the shaft wobbles, it will destroy the TPS (Throttle Position Sensor).

When there is excessive wear on the shaft or housing, these bushings won't be a lot of help because they will fit loose.  If this is your case we recommend to replace the shaft and bracket. Thoroughly clean the shaft and housing from all rust, corrosion and paint.  If you press them in to a crappy housing, it will crush the bushing and make it bind on the shaft. Lube with regular grease.
